And it tasted pretty good—robust and flavorful, and with an acceptable yet stiff homemade crust (also a first for me). It was actually really difficult—it used up all my dishes and stalled my blender—but I was pleased with the result. It looked like the picture, too!
It’s hard to find a quiche around here that doesn’t include eggs, but I have found some restaurants that serve it, and it seems to be $8 or more per serving. This recipe, on the other hand, cost less than $6 and made about seven meal-sized servings, for a total potential savings of $50. (Not that I would normally have eaten seven servings of restaurant quiche this week, but I do sometimes eat at restaurants, and this saved me from doing that.) The money goes to…
